This will be a short, sharp series of blog posts. For each of the locations we visit I will give a to-the-point, no nonsense assessment of the city/town/village.
- Location: Phong Nha
- Population: c1,000
- Must see: The caves. Phong Nha cave is the most impressive but if you have a group of friends go to the Dark Cave and play on the zip lines that go into the river outside of the cave, it’s a great day.
- Must do: The Duck Stop! One of the weirdest attractions in Vietnam where you play, feed and get a foot massage from a friendly flock of ducks.
- Must eat: A little Vietnam was our favourite restaurant on the main strip with tasty cheap eats. We didn’t try it ourselves, but if you’d like the freshest chicken in the world try The Pub With Cold Beer.
- The least Yorkshire thing about Phong Nha: If you choose to, you can kill the chicken before you eat it at The Pub With Cold Beer.
